The view changes constantly, along with the colors of the water and the rocks. Visitors on a day trip to Horseshoe Bend can easily enjoy the quick hike to the iconic viewpoint, positioned high above the Colorado River. In fact, just nine miles downstream the Bend, the Grand Canyon National Park’s boundaries begin. Horseshoe Bend has a look similar to the Grand Canyon. At Horseshoe Bend, the river almost does a full 360 around the rock walls in this part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
